Steve Baucom
God gives the heart a voice to sound it's joy.....and calls it music.
Steve is the Choir Director at Prospect. Southern Gospel is his favorite style of music but he has a love for contemporary too, so a blended style is used for the worship services. Steve, having over 10 years of piano lessons and 45 years of music experience, uses that experience to direct the church's adult choir of over 100 members and oversee the other music programs in the church. Steve believes God gives everyone a talent, and if you don't use it, you'll eventually lose it. If music should be someone's gift, participating in the music ministry, such as singing in a choir or teaching the younger children to sing, is a great way to use that talent.

Steve graduated magna cum laude from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, in Cincinnati, Ohio, with a degree in Mortuary Science, Management, and Embalming. After several years in funeral service, he began work at Alcoa Aluminum. After 29 years of work, he retired as a supervisor in 2006. Steve also coached high school football for 13 years.
